Study of Hemostasis During the Atrial Fibrillation Ablation Procedure (EHPAFAVE)
Due to the high thrombotic risk during the atrial fibrillation procedure, new guidelines have been proposed to maintain direct oral anticoagulant therapy during the perioperative period. This resulted in a significant change in the activated clotting time (ACT) at the beginning of the procedure, making it difficult to assess the …

Vitamin K Supplementation Study in Healthy Volunteers (Aim 2B)
The overall purpose of this study is to determine how variation in the CYP4F2 gene modulates the synthesis of vitamin K-dependent clotting factors. We propose that the CYP4F23 gene variant increases short- and long-term vitamin K concentrations in the liver by reducing the efficiency of vitamin K metabolism.

Effects of Intravenous Laser Irradiation of Blood Treatment With Different Colored Lights on Controlling Recurrent Stroke Risk Factors and Neurological Function in Stroke Patients (vxvxvxcvxc)
Exclusion criteria include patients with skin conditions unsuitable for injection or light exposure, those with light allergies, pregnant individuals, those with abnormal blood clotting function, those with implanted pacemakers, and individuals unable to comply with the 5-month study plan. Participants will undergo 10 sessions of infrared light and 10 sessions …

Extracorporeal Blood Purification as a Treatment Modality for COVID-19
Several studies have suggested a potential clinical benefit of controlling hyper inflammation triggered by SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19. Blood purification, the removal of excessive proinflammatory mediators may control disease progression and support clinical recovery. For this purpose, COVID-19 patients might benefit from treatment with AN69ST hemofilter based extracorporeal blood purification.

Dipyridamole to Prevent Coronavirus Exacerbation of Respiratory Status (DICER) in COVID-19
The most severe manifestations of COVID-19 include respiratory failure, coagulation problems, and death. Inflammation and blood clotting are believed to play an important role in these manifestations. Research in humans has shown that dipyridamole can reduce blood clotting.

Dexmedetomidine and Blood Coagulation
Dexmedetomidine may alter whole blood coagulation. However, little is known about the dose-response relationships according to the blood concentration of dexmedetomidine. The investigators have therefore performed the present study to measure the effect of dexmedetomidine on the coagulation pathway according to the drug concentration level using a rotational thromboelastometry test.

Thrombo-Elastography Guided Management of ECMO
Anticoagulation and coagulation management during ECMO is a challenge. Bleeding and clotting are major sources of morbidity and mortality. The currently used strategies are of poor evidence. This observational study wants to evaluate the use of automated thromboelastography (TEG 6s) to guide the management of coagulation and anticoagulation in patients …
