BCI-FES Therapy for Stroke Rehabilitation

There are over 7 million stroke survivors in the US alone, with approximately 795,000 new cases annually. Despite the best available physiotherapy, 30-60% of stroke survivors remain affected by difficulty walking, with foot weakness often being the main cause.

Effect of Brain Stimulation on Stepping Performance in Stroke Survivors and Healthy Adults

This in turn may significantly impact the recovery of motor function in stroke survivors. In addition, the investigators also want to know how a healthy person learns this new leg task and see if her/his learning pattern differs from a stroke survivor.

Effect of Lower Limb Exproprioception Training in Virtual Environment on Locomotion Performance in Stroke Patients

It was hypothesized that the experimental group would be able to place the foot closer to the target when stepping and have more symmetrical gait. So far, 22 stroke patients completed the experiment. Preliminary results support the hypothesis. This project is still ongoing.

Non-invasive Stroke Volume-based uid Management in Elderly Patients Undergoing Hip Fracture Surgery Under Spinal Anaesthesia

The study is going to be a single-centre prospective randomized trial. Patients will be randomly allocated to either control group (anesthetist-directed fluid therapy) or goal directed fluid therapy group, in which fluid therapy was guided by stoke volume (SV) algorithm with the use of Nexfin monitor. Primary outcome measures were …

Effectiveness of an Intervention Using Observation/Action Therapy Among Patients With Mild Cognitive Impairment

Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a transitional state between normal aging and early dementia, characterized by memory deficits without functional impairment. Cognitive decline prevalence is increasing in older adults, impacting independence and quality of life. Motor dysfunctions, often overlooked in MCI, contribute to these limitations. Action Observation Therapy (AOT), a …
