The Harefield Acute Myocardial Infarction Cohort

In this project the investigator's plan to collect blood during a patient's routine angiogram procedure which they will have due to having suffered a heart attack. Data from the patients' routine procedures for this condition, including but not exclusively, ECG, Echocardiogram, MRI scans, will be collected.

Management and Outcomes of Patients Admitted to Coronary Care Units Depending on Degree of Frailty and Comorbidities

Background Patients less than 80 years of age, who suffer a myocardial infarction (MI) are usually (>90%) offered an early invasive strategy including coronary angiography possibly followed by intervention, preferably percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Drug Coated Balloon Only vs Drug Eluting Stent Angioplasty

We will, incorporate all patients presenting either with myocardial infarction (heart attack) or stable angina. Our main outcomes will be: Primary 1) mortality Secondary 1) cardiac mortality 2) cardiac rehospitalisation3) composite of cardiac mortality and cardiac rehospitalisation

The Study of Anesthesia-related Risk Factors for Postoperative Death in Elderly Non-cardiac Surgery Patients in China

At present, the elderly population in China has reached 241 million, and there are more than 20 million elderly surgical patients every year, accounting for about 25% of the surgical population. However, there is no research report on the anesthesia related risk factors of death of elderly patients in hospital. …

Complex All-comers and Patients With Diabetes or Prediabetes Treated With Xience Sierra Everolimus-eluting Stents

Drug eluting stents (DES) are widely used for treatment of coronary artery lesions. The Xience Sierra stent has a refined design of the metal stent backbone and is used in patients with various clinical syndromes and in different lesions. Clinical outcome of patients with previously unknown (silent) diabetes and prediabetes …

New Time Clock for ST-elevation MI Based on Biochemical Myocardial Infarction Onset Time

ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is one of the leading causes of death across the world and immediate treatment with either thrombolytics or percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) results in lower mortality.

Inflammation and Cardiovascular Health in Women

Moreover, WHIV in high-resource regions face a three-fold increased risk of myocardial infarction as compared with matched non-HIV-infected women. The goals of this study are to better understand ways in which HIV infection-incited systemic immune activation and inflammation augment MI risk among women.

Cellular Immunity, Neuroendocrine, and Inflammatory Factors for Clinical Prognosis in Acute Coronary Syndrome

The objective of this study is to demonstrate that, within the frame of reference of ACS, beyond the thrombotic phenomenon that leads to ischemia and myocardial necrosis, there is an activation of an inflammatory and stress response, evidenced by an elevation of CRP and cortisol, respectively, and sequentially modifications in …
