Hyperpolarized 13C Pyruvate MRI Scan in Predicting Tumor Aggressiveness in Patients With Localized Renal Tumor

This feasibility study will evaluate how well hyperpolarized 13C pyruvate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan works in predicting tumor aggressiveness in patients with localized renal tumor. Hyperpolarized 13C pyruvate is a non-radioactive substance with potential usage in the diagnostic imaging of tumors.

Minocycline in MS: Confirmation of Benefit

Trial participants will include men and women, aged 18-60 years who have had a first demyelinating event within the previous 180 days and who have brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with at least two brain T2 lesions which are at least 3 mm in diameter, and at least one of …

Radiotherapy With Hyperthermia in Recurrent and Radiation-Induced Sarcomas

After a screening, which consists of biopsy, physical examination, initial diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI-MRI) or body computed tomography (CT) scan, blood tests and case analysis on Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meeting, a patient with radiation-induced or in-field recurrent sarcoma will receive the hypofractionated radiotherapy with deep hyperthermia (twice a week) …

Improving Insulin Sensitivity by Non-invasive Brain Stimulation

Efforts in curing and preventing obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2D) have been elusive thus far. One reason for that is the lack of understanding of the role of the brain in the development and treatment of the disease. In recent studies, the hypothalamus was identified as part of a …

Effects of Age and Obesity on Brain Insulin Sensitivity

To this end, the investigators will assess brain insulin action using intranasal insulin/placebo during functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI). Additionally, structural changes and cognitive processes will be assessed as secondary variables.

Walking After Traumatic Brain Injury in Older Adults

Baseline testing will take place at the Center for Cognitive and Brain Health and Northeastern University Biomedical Imaging Center, for the baseline magnetic resonance imaging, in the interdisciplinary science and engineering complex on Northeastern University's campus. In person testing will take place over one session.

Hyperpolarized Imaging for New Treatments

Even LCI, however, may not adequately capture early lung function changes, thus warranting investigation of even more sensitive outcome measures. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has the advantage of being a radiation-free modality, making it more suitable for assessing response to therapy in a shorter time frame with repeated imaging.

Metarrestin (ML-246) in Subjects With Metastatic Solid Tumors

They will have an electroencephalogram to record brain activity. They will have a computed tomography (CT) scan or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). A CT is a series of X-rays of the body. An MRI uses magnets and radio waves to take pictures of the body. Adult participants may have tumor …

Investigating Complex Neurodegenerative Disorders Related to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and Frontotemporal Dementia

Background:Neurodegenerative disorders can lead to problems in movement or memory. Some can cause abnormal proteins to build up in brain cells. Researchers want to understand whether these diseases have related causes or risk factors. Objective:To test people with movement or thinking and memory problems to see if they are eligible for …
