Summary

The 3D-PRIME study will analyse whether use of 3D echocardiography can improve risk stratification and cardiovascular outcome in patients with mitral regurgitation of different etiologies.

Eligibility

Inclusion Criteria

Adult patients with primary or secondary mitral regurgitation of mild
moderate or severe degree, without clinical signs of heart failure and with
left ventricular ejection fraction 40%

Exclusion Criteria

Co-existence of another valve disease of severe degree, clinical signs of
heart failure combined with ejection fraction <40%, or inability to give
informed consent
